Veronica Roth’s YA debut doesn’t hit shelves until tomorrow, but we can exclusively premiere the book trailer today. I’ve already read the book, but I was still excited to see the trailer for Divergent, which is the first volume in a planned trilogy. (The rights to the dystopian thriller have already been snapped up by Summit.)
Check it out, and tell us know what you think in the comments.

Awesome – can’t wait to read this! (There’s a great promotional quiz on facebook too – I got Candor…)
Worst. Trailer. Ever. Serious, WTF was that? Too vague. “Oooh, she has to make a decision…” Care to let us in on what the decision is? Maybe then we’d give a rat’s rump. I’ve heard wonderful things about this book but that anemic trailer is doing nothing to help sell it.
its an awesome book dont make fun of it because its amazing!
Gotta agree with Andy. That trailer told me NOTHING about the book. Good thing it’s getting glowing reviews across the internet. Book trailers are dumb. Especially that one.
While I totally agree that book trailers are ridiculous … I have to laugh at the comments that it “told me nothing about the book.” You’d rather it tells you the ending? People complain that movie trailers give too much of the plot. Well, you want a very brief synopsis of this book, read the back cover.
I LOVED this book!!! I really like the trailer, don’t know why everyone;s hating it but I like it.
…That trailer was overdramatic and too vague. I agree with the above posters.
For those wondering, it all begins for Beatrice with a choice that every child is entitled to when they turn 16. She’s always felt the odd lamb in her family, in her boring, safe, careful ABNEGATION society (faction of the selfless). Because she just might not want that kind of a life anymore–maybe 16 years is enough. But it’s the only life she’s ever known, and leaving her faction means turning her back on those she loves.
(spoiler, ha ha) She leaves for the Dauntless faction (the brave), and then the brutal consequences of her decision finally catches up with her. But giving up means losing everything. And so begins the The Hunger Games comparisons.
Really bad trailer, but a great book. I read a galley about a month ago. Yeah, it’s going to be compared to The Hunger Games, but it also brought to mind Matched by Ally Condie. I won’t reveal any details, but I’ll say, it was quite a page-turner.
This video gave me the chills. Love me some dystopian!
Sounds like it’s going to be a book I have to check out! Thanks for posting
I love it!
I loved this book. The trailer is a bit vague, but it is rather awesome still.
Great work on the trailer. The book was incredible!
The trailer is a great intro to the book. I enjoyed watching it!
Oooooooh!! This looks really, really good!!
Fantastic video! I can’t wait to read this!
This book is one of my all-time favorites now. I’ve read the galley of it several times and can’t wait for it to go on sale so I can talk about it with everyone else who reads it!
