Perez Hilton, the bad boy of celebrity blogging, has written a children’s book, The Boy with the Pink Hair, set for a September 2011 release. Dare we say the protagonist of the story, a boy with a “shock of fabulous hair,” is at least loosely based on the author? The book promises to “celebrate individuality and acceptance.” Hilton has written two previous books for adults, Perez Hilton’s True Bloggywood Stories and Red Carpet Suicide: A Survival Guide on Keeping Up with the Hiltons.

Radiohead is launching The Universal Sigh, an unconventional international newspaper, containing voice-driven pieces and work by writers such as Robert McFarlane and Jay Griffiths.

Susan Jeffers discusses the top-secret, high-stakes task of being a copy editor for the Harry Potter series.

Jean Auel concludes her prehistoric saga The Land of Painted Caves with a sixth installment.

Pick up a book and read, and your kids will follow.

Perez Hilton is the last person who should try to teach others about acceptance. He is the one who needs that lesson.

He is apparently trying to stop making fun of celebs, but I wouldn’t know for sure because I stopped going on his website years ago.

While I’m sure this book is just another $$ sign for Perez, I’m sure it will have a nice message – it actually sounds pretty fabulous. I would buy it for my kids if I had any.

  • Kat

I had no idea Jean Auel was still writing things, particularly prehistoric things. I wonder if it’s got more graphic Neanderthal-on-human sex scenes… :)

  • Bluto

    Ha! Ain’t that the trooth.

Last week, Perez was a record producer who was charged with finding the newest, brightest new talent that… no one has still ever heard of. This week he’s a children’s author, teaching about tolerance. Next week, he’ll be opening a line of gyms in Mexico City—that is, if he continues to follow Madonna’s career arc.

    • Dahlia

Well, since he’s not creative enough to forge one of his own…

  • Barb Schlais

Why haven’t we seen anything about Jean Auel’s book
    The Land of Painted Caves?

    • Dahlia

Please, don’t mention real books by real authors here.

      • whatevs

True. Those with discernible writing talent need look elsewhere for recognition.

  • Reena

I wonder if he will tell the kids its ok to bully and make fun of people as long as you make money off of it! why would a parent buy their child this book when he has made fun of children several times

In Perez’s world anyone’s fair game as long as they’re not gay. If you’re straight he will cut you to pieces. I DESPISE that man.

  • jennifer

Actually, Perez is credited with helping launch lady Gaga’s career..he blogged about her long before anyone knew who she was.

    • Dahlia

You cite this as if it’s a good thing.

      • DRG

Lauching Lady Ca Ca’s career is not something to celebrate, it is something to be doing serious time for. He should not be credited for doing that he should be charged with doing it.

      • Woot

Seriously DRG? Stop trolling Lady Gaga.

    • jan

so? who cares? Yes the gay community needs yet another white woman telling them what they can think do and say and using them for fame. Give me a break. This from a man who trashes gay actors and gay singers up and down.

  • GeeMoney

    He is so ugly.

    • Anonymous

      more inside than out

  • jan

    Ugh vile and gross.
What will the book say it is ok to lie.
It is ok to be a bully unless it is politically incorrect to do so?

I am pro gay rights and anti bullying of gays but the gay community can not be taken seriously on this issue as long as this guy is 1)the face of the gay community 2)the face of their claims that bullying is wrong.

    • Jack King

He’ll also teach kids that the best way to shut down anyone who doesn’t agree with you is to ask them inappropriate questions during a live TV telecast and then ridicule them in the media for weeks after even though they gave a perfectly appropriate answer. Oh, and that is especially true if the other person is an attractive woman (something that horrifies that pathetic, petty, pit stain Perez).

  • Tim

He’s a p.o.s. human being. Keep your kids far and clear from this parasite.

  • Mike G.

Is this the book that tells you how to molest children without getting caught?

    • stu

Mike G. & jack queen..were u both home schooled? cuz u write like dumb asses.

      • Mike

Stu…is this comment for real? Can’t you spell full words?

  • Jack King

Let me guess, the title will be “Hilton Perez & The Perky Pedophiles”?

  • MICA

Any parent who buys a Perez Hilton book for their kids, needs to have their head read. He is a vile, parasite creating a blog that Vilifies and belittles celebrities. Why doesn’t he start a site which promotes the good things celebrities do.

  • The Fall of Rome

The good old USA; truly the land where no talent is needed to be “successful” and famous.

  • Adam

I’m surprised he can write and read.

  • anoymous

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
