Image Credit: Jordan Strauss/Getty ImagesPenguin Young Readers Group has just announced that it will publish a self-esteem book for young girls penned by actress Elizabeth Berkley. I presume that it’ll be more Saved By the Bell than Showgirls, or at least I sincerely hope that it will.
Ask Elizabeth is set hit bookstores next spring, and is based on workshops Berkley has organized over the last four years in which she discusses teen issues with groups of girls, with topics ranging from body image to dating to how not to get so addicted to caffeine pills that you freak out and start cry-singing Pointer Sisters songs. What do you think? Would you want helpful advice on how to navigate high school from Jessie Spano?

April Fool’s Day was 2 weeks ago, what give’s?
Original (rejected) title for Berkley’s self-esteem book: “I Like Having Nice T!ts”
Ha! That is perfect!
This is fantastic! Most people don’t know it but the work she does with teenage girls is incredible. Go Elizabeth Berkley!
I totally agree, Mary. It’s easy to make a joke given her past roles, but she has been reaching out to young girls with these workshops for a long time. I say good for her.
I’m So Excited. I’m So Excited. I’m so…scared.
You took the words right out of my mouth, Paul!
LOL,that was a good one!! that episode cracked me up!!
HILARIOUS!!
You’re setting us up, right? This is just too easy…
She’s got the crazy eyes!
hahahahahahahaha OMG the thought of this being true is HYSTERICAL Rule #26 – do NOT push someone down the stairs if you have witnesses behind u
Why does everyone talk about Elizabeth Berkley like Showgirls was entirely her idea and/or fault? There were several other people involved, including the director. Give the girl a break already!!!
Elizabeth would be a way better influence for young girls than Lindsay Lohan or Sarah Palin. In fact,I’d like to see this made into a TV series.
I hope she talks about the true source of self-esteem! Getting to know our Forever Friend alone each day in His Word amazingly straightens each of our spines!
Slam dunkin like Shaquille O’Neal, if he wrote inofmrtaive articles.
