I’m torn. I like reading my books in the bath. Is the Kindle or Nook waterproof? That’d be the selling point for me! Not that books are water proof, but at least they don’t break if slightly dropped in water.
Waterproof? No.
But you can put the Kindle in a quart sized ziplock bag, and the bag is waterproof. You’ll be able to access all buttons including the controller through the bag.
I don’t think you could do that with the Nook’s touch screen though.
You loose a little bit of clarity, but not a whole lot. I’ve read my Kindle standing in the middle of a downpour and it came out perfectly dry. I was soaked, however.
i live on a 12mile long island where we dont have a great selection of books,so i can’t what to get a kindle
e-readers will most definitely be the next big thing. Check out ereaderquestions.com to see what’s happening now.
Just ordered my nook today, even though I won’t get until after Jan. 4. To settle for a Kindle 2 would be like going ahead and buying a 2-3 computer just to have one immediately rather than to wait a couple of extra months for a laptop with the all latest technology. Since I can’t run out and buy “the latest” pricey techno devices & gadgets, then I have to make my investments count and I highly doubt there’s much more Kindle/Amazon could do at this point to top all the features of Barnes & Noble’s nook. Just saying…
