You’ll be getting a little more Questlove — real name Amir Thompson — in your life this summer: the Afro’d Roots drummer’s forthcoming memoir, Mo’ Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove, will be released on June 18 through Grand Central Publishing.
According to a press release, Thompson will be working with Ben Greenman, a longtime New Yorker editor, on this “punch-drunk memoir,” which “digs deep into the album cuts of his life and unearths some pivotal moments in black music and pop culture.” What’s more, it also “questions the nature of memory and the idea of a post modern black man saddled with some post-modern blues.”
Take a look at Mo’ Meta’s delightful cover — a black outline beneath a sea of psychedelic question marks — below. How soon will you be waiting in line?
