    I read his books because I like reading long fantasy books. But I like each sequel less and less. The author focuses mostly on darkness and gruesome violence. There is not enough depth or anything that would touch and inspire. Mostly naturalistic (in the 19th century sense), misanthropic writing style with far to many tedious and unnecessary details.

      I agree totally. I am half way through book 3 and it’s getting to be a bit ridiculous. Nothing ever good happens and if HBO thinks that will sell long term, they may be in for a shocker.

      actually i particularly found Bran’s chapters (few as they were) surprisingly moving. and Reek/Theon got my sympathy vote. cheered for Dany and Varys towards the end. was initially disappointed but more i think about it the more satisfied i am, so basically damn you GRRM!!!

    I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, Bids Get. com

    I COMPLETELY disagree.

    What a tremendous disappointment!

    After SO many years of waiting for this book, it was like a slap in the face to get to the end and realize that it could have been 997 pges shorter (or never have been written for that matter). It brought the characters forward maybe a hair, no more. it was boring, redundant, amateurish and to digress a bit…just plain ridiculous and stupid in parts.

    Martin = Tolkien? Puhleeze.

    Well I finally finished this book and I must say that I was very disappointed. I felt that nothing happened in 900 of the thousand pages. I would suggest just turning to page 900 and starting there. It was like being in a war room discussing war, but never going out to fight one. What happened to the passion of this series? I really hope the next book steps it up, or alot of fans will be lost.

    It was with great hope when I opened the book ‘A Feast of Crows,†I would find at least a few unanswered questions from the previous book. However, that was not true. In fact, the pages have added to my list of unanswered questions. If you haven’t started reading “A Feast for Crows,’ STOP!, The author is good at leering you in but does not deliver in this book either.

      I don’t think we are getting any answers until the last book, which I hear is the eighth book, so you just have to keep reading. But like I said on my previous post, I feel he is just dragging things out, since nothing happened in the fifth book (Dance with Dragons).
