Exclusive: Hilary Duff novel 'Devoted' cover reveal

devoted

Hilary Duff is becoming quite the author. Joining the literary ranks of novelists like Lauren Conrad and Snooki, the former Disney Channel star, who already wrote last year’s bestselling YA novel Elixir, has penned a follow-up set to come out October 11. Titled Devoted, it continues the story of rich, famous, jet-setting Duff surrogate Clea Raymond as she uncovers mysterious, supernatural goings-on.

Check out the cover for Devoted to the left, which is about as blue as Elixir‘s was purple. What do you guys think? Any fans of Duff’s first book?

Me too!! I’ve been a fan of her’s ever since Lizzie McGuire, and I love just about everything she does. She’s so smart & talented, and I love Elixir, so I’m sure I’ll like this one, too. :)

The difference between Duff and those two reality stars is that Duff gave her gohst writer credit

    • Andrea

    • Nadine

I wonder if Elise Allen (who ghostwrote Elixir) is also ghostwriting Devoted.

Lauren Conrad acknowledged her “collaborator” in her first novel. Of course, the book was still totally awful.

      • Summer

Yeah, but the three books have been a nice, breezy beach read.

Hilary Duff is lovely, gorgeous, stunning and beautiful. I love her. She’s a really sweet girl. I hope that she does more mainstream movies from now on and begins her ascension to the A-list

  • Harly

OoOh I love it!! Alluringly mysterious. This book should not be compared to a guido or fashion book. I loved elixir. Happily looking forward to devoted!

Elixir was a fantastic book, and I am SO excited for Devoted. I have a feeling it will be so much better(not that it makes Elixir any less good). I just know Mrs. Duff-Comrie has a wonderful book up her sleeve. The cover is beautiful, I love it. It’s simple and sophisticated, just like Hilary. :)

It doesn’t segue well with Elixir, which is a major oversight, but it’ll definitely appeal to paranormal fans.

  • maaaynk

gud job hilary, ur novel definitely will famous..becoz u r realy best writer,actres,singer,dancer..nd much more..te amo hilary..best of luck.

  • nicole

I can’t imagine anything I want to read less. She is not a “Sweet” girl at all. Remember what she said to Faye Dunaway? This girl is a half talent hack at best, if I want to read a novel I’ll try one that doesn’t have a ghost rider. Why read a non-writing actor’s work when I can read fiction from a real fiction writer!

    • Jake

Hilary Duff is an extremely talented person. The fact that you believe she is a hack only outlines your ignorance to true talent. True she has a ghost writter but she gives credit to her. All the ideas are her own and you can’t blame her for getting someone to word it for her. She has worked hard for both books and Elixir was a really good novel as will this one be. No point in coming on to a page like
this and having a little rant about her.
      Save that for facebook.

      • whatevs

Anyone can come up with ideas. Writing it is the difficult part.

      • anieva

Conceiving an idea is something to be proud of. But, really, “you can’t blame her for getting someone to write it for her”? Really? We can’t?
That’s what writers do: they word together ideas. The ideas are only part of the process, but an important one. Maybe Duff should try to find out if she can dream up stuff and use words in the manner of a real writer. Really pacing and characterization, etc – this is the stuff of the work of writing. Daydreams not as much.

      • Jenn

Anyone who gives someone “credit” for coming up with an idea has obviously never tried to write a full-length novel.

  • dan

She actually gave her colaborator credit and named her in several interviews, that’s why I love this girl, not many celebs are that honest
