Publisher Simon & Schuster announced Sunday that it will release a biography surrounding Steve Jobs’ life, with the Apple CEO’s full participation. According to the Associated Press, the book, titled iSteve: The Book of Jobs, will be written by Walter Isaacson and released in 2012. (Isaacson has previously written biographies on Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin.) The author has been working on the Jobs biography since 2009, and has had access to the CEO’s friends and family. Jobs has suffered numerous health setbacks over the years — in January, he announced he would take a leave of absence (his third) from Apple before returning to introduce the iPad 2 last month.
Looks like he knows his time is up and wanted to leave behind a biography before he went. Sad.
True, but there’s a huge positive aspect; he helped usher in the the digital age, and, whether one likes Apple or not, his influence and power cannot really be overstated. He has a hell of a life – that’s not such a sad thing, but something to celebrate. I’m not so sure he’s done yet, either.
Two comments. Lonesome is it not?
Any bets on how much is going to be whitewashed, like how he scammed Woz out of early profit sharing of their co-founded company, or his long-time denial of his paternity of daughter Lisa, or how he demeaned and alienated fellow employees, or how he stole the Mac project from Jef Raskin?
