I just discovered his books three years ago at my local library, the first one I read was Doomwyte.I’ve read twelve so far and continue to spend allowance money on many more.I have now started to collect them now that he has passed.

This is late but hears goes

I read red wall in summer 2003 first time I had read a red wall novel then aged 17. I had seen the TV series before hand and although I liked the music and the medieval tapestry art I found it not as thrilling and like many thing of fiction the story will always be better then film. So far I have read

    Martin the warrior

    Mossflower

    Mariel of redwall

    Salamandastron

    Redwall

    The long patrol

    I’m still currently reading

    The pearls of Lutra

I loved it it’s a series to love for generations to come at the time of reading the book it helped me and many ways as I had lost my 6 year old brother on new years day of a heart attack 2003 which did upset many of us in the house for months to come. The book with its good humour friendship and loss & good Vs evil.

Which was something which in me was story formula I liked ever since I was young I have liked fantasy settings and stories as far back as I can remember. I remember reading the last part of redwall and feeling not only sad but happy at the same time so that shows the power of books. It’s a pity I never got to meet Brain Jaques which is a shame as I liked his work and was sad to hear of his passing. It’s a shame I wish I could have gone to the memorial service but sadly I was away at the time another great artist is gone
But the words “I Am That Is” Shall live on for ever.

    RIP Brain Jaques

I’m so sad you are gone. I read all your books and reread my favorites. Bought every one I could find as a collection for my grandchildren, even colored the chapter pictures. Find them hard to give away. Hoping for an animated movie series to be produced. Goodbye my friend.

Wow. I just found out last night when I checked out ‘The Rogue Crew’ from the library. The back flap of the book kept referring to him in past tense so I came online to see why…
In my former home of abuse and domestic violence, his world of Redwall got me through. The entire series minus the new release sits on my honoured top shelf. Mossflower was my first read, but The Bellmaker, Salamandastron, and Outcast of Redwall would have to be my favorites. RIP Brian Jacques, and thank you.

I am extremely inspired together with your writing talents and also with the layout to your weblog. Is this a paid topic or did you modify it your self? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s uncommon to look a great weblog like this one nowadays..
