Image Credit: Kimberly FrenchThe upcoming cinematic reinvention of the classic fairy tale, starring Amanda Seyfried as the crimson-caped protagonist, looks to be a long, long way from Grandma’s house and a lot closer to the violent psycho-sexuality of those fraternal creeps, the Brothers Grimm. While the script was written for the screen, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers is releasing a novelized adaptation in advance of the film — today, in fact — written by first-time author Sarah Blakley-Cartwright. Blakley-Cartwright, Red Riding Hood director Catherine Hardwicke, and screenwriter David Johnson discuss the film and the writing process in some exclusive clips, featured in the enhanced e-book edition of the novel. Check them out below.

Catherine Hardwicke talks new project: 'Red Riding Hood'

another great classic ruined!
The Grimm Brothers’ Little Red Cap may be the least disturbing and sexual version of this story. Try reading some of the earlier ones which involve both nudity and cannibalism.
As always, thanks for bringing more Red Riding Hood news.
The trailer makes is look good. But, after Hardwicke’s horrendous job in directing Twilight, I am very hesitant to watch anything with her name attached to it.
If I had known that you were not including the ending to the book, I would never had bought it. This is the stupidest promotional I have ever seen. It has not made me want to see the movie.
Quite the opposite. I can’t and won’t lend the book to my friends, How could I when it does not have an ending. Regardless of how well the book is written, what a mess. An unfinished book!!! I won’t promote the movie, or the book to any of my friends.
I completely agree with your comment! The end of the book directs you to the website for the bonus chapter but its not available until the movie comes out. Aaargh! My thinking is now: dumb book = dumb movie.
I think Catherine Hardwicke is a very, very good director but she picks the worst projects. Why, Catherine, why??
I agree with all about the missing last chapter. It sucks!! However, my question is about Solomon. He killed his wife since she was a werewolf and the condition is supposedly hereditary. What about his twin daughters?
Not putting the ending in the book is lame, dishonest, an does nothing to promote the movie. I threw the book away and have no desire to see the movie. I’ve wasted enough money on this crap, I’m not spending more.
I loved the book and went to the website when the bonus chapter was out so I could read it. But it wouldn’t let me! The book was good, but it needs an ending. One that is NOT online.
I think the book was really good!!! But the ending was missing!! That’s bs! It should have been there. And the trailer for the movie looked really good I want to go watch it really bad!!
I think the book was great and cant wait to watch the movie. And most books leave you hanging at the end. That way you come back for more.
Like my name it’s long and cool.
Any way red riding hood was a good book can’t wait for the movie! I am so surprised that Peter is the wolf.
If I was Valarie I would’ve been ticked off, cause Peter killed her sister!
im in love with this book. I really hope the make part two to this book! I wish valarie would have found out if peter was the wolf, theres no doubt that he isnt!
hey hey that’s kinda mean the book was so fricken awsom havn’t seen the movie but i hope the book gets a sequal
I did.. like the movie..
Haven’t read the book..
But I won’t read it since they say theres no ending..
