I would rather it be rated R to stay TRUE to the story then PG13 some parts with nudty are better taken out but it needs them in places as well.

Gore is another problem it would be no worse than Saving private Ryan and thats not bad I see worse when I go hog hunting!

I am 13 and have seen Shawn of the dead, saving private Ryan , punisher, and a bunch of other R rated movies and if your parents won’t let you see it go buy a pg13 ticket get in and wait until the HG movie starts and go see it me and my frends do it all the time its simple and no one waits at the door to the R movie anyway

Okay i read percy jackson books and when they made it into a pg-13 movie it was turned childish and i hated it. If they make The hunger games like that i would be so pissed. I just say that it should be an R-Rating so they dont ruin it so kids can watch. Kids just need to get there parents to come. If your parents dont want you to see the movie they shouldnt have let you read the book.

I definitely do not think they should dull down the violence. That is the whole point of the book! It was the capitol’s way of showing they were in control in their futuristic society. I’m not saying they should make it a huge bloodbath, but at least stay true to the book so that it will still have that same impact the book made (especially in the death of Rue, which was heartbreaking) If they don’t they may not be able to capture the emotion of scenes such as Rue’s death. I think this movie will still turn out great but it is definitely not PG-13. I think it would be good 14A!!! Because that’s only a year older, and to be honest parents are gonna let their kids watch the movie anyway if they’ve read the book already.

im 10 and i seen rated R movies i mean i we all haven’t so i think it should be PG-13 or else because A LOT of people will get mad

If they tone down the violence its going to ruin the movie seeing as the movie is all about the bloodshed and terrible situation these kids fall into. I agree that there should be no cursing or nudeness because thats not in the book. One movie should at least try to stay within the lines of the amazing books collins has wrote.

I’m just hoping they won’t turn these in to ‘Hollywood movies’ simply to draw as many people as possible to the theatres – They could always show a cut and an un-cut version so people can choose for themselves. Not to mention the fact that the movies can be watched and appreciated a lot more if, when you’ve grown older, you can still enjoy them. Sort of like stepping from ‘Lord of the Rings’ to ‘Game of Thrones’ in the sense of the feel of the movie/tv-series respectively.

Think of it this way… The Lovely Bones was a critical flop, mainly because the harsher subject matters from the book were either danced around or removed completely upon adaptation. Since it was toned down for the sake of younger viewers, it lost it’s punch, and as a result, lost it’s effectiveness. Do you want the same thing to happen to The Hunger Games?

but the lovely bones had child rape in it and nudity. The hunger Games doesn’t have that. It does have a little nudity in it, but its not crucial to the story.

I myself am 13 years old. I loved these books. But I don’t know how the movie will achieve a pg 13 rating. Unfortunately, I know they will do that, they would lose their major audience if they didn’t, I just hope they do it well. Personally I believe they should do an R rating to keep the violent spirit of the book.

    • Blaise

yes but I still think it could pull off PG-13! HARRY POTTER was very violent but still Pg-13

  • Blaise

Ok Im am 13 and have read all the books it could still get a Pg-13 rating unless it had sex witch it doesn’t and even though peeta almost strips if u think back to the book he still has on his shorts!

  • anna carr

they gave the kings Speech and R rating and it had no violence, gore, sex or nudity. All it did was drop the F bomb and that was only in one scene. I personally think that they can easily pull off a PG-13 rating and it can still have all the violence and blood. They don’t have show the nudity and all that other stuff.

  • anna carr

If they make it R, than the movie will end up being a total flop, no matter how good the movie is because the audience that it was intended for will either not get to see it or be forced to take their parents. if they want the movie to be a success, than they have to rate it PG-13. Just don’t show people actually getting skewered, shot, speared, stabbed, swelling and becoming deformed, clobbered, or being eaten by a bunch of muttated wolves with dead peoples eyes.

Jehosh27 on October 20, 2011 Well, the cnesott is over now, but I think The Last Samurai would be great. You start off with a gun, and know next to nothing about swords. (how about the indian raid for the tutorial?) and as the game progresses, factions come into view, and you can side with whomever you want. Multiple, alternate endings, and even alternate fighting styles. Maybe Algren fights AGAINST the samurai at the end? it would be a very fun game, I think, especially if Bioware made it.

LISTEN PEOPLE, THEY CAN ADD THE GORE THAT WAS IN THE BOOK BUT THEY HAVE TO CUT OUT THE NUDITY OR IT WILL BE RATED R. NO ONE WILL MISS THE NUDITY EXCEPT MAYBE SOME TEENS BUT THEY HAVE TO KEEP THE VIOLENCE OR IT WOULDNT BE THE SAME. THEY CAN KEEP THE BLOOD THATS IN THE BOOK AND IT WILL STILL BE PG-13.

  • Nick Libitka

im 12 and i dont really care if they dont hold back on the gore or rates it R. roflmao! haha my mom and me both love the book and talk about it all the time so we dont care we’re not missing it…..
