The whole time I was reading The Hunger Games as they were in the arena, I kept thinking of the show Big Brother and The Bachelor. The showmance was genius on her part, and with Big Brother, the contestants are put into this controlled environment where everything is decided by “big brother” which ultimately leads to more sensational drama and game play. The way the contestants ultimately form alliances, but realize they will have to turn on those allies eventually was such a smart touch as well. It was just brilliant writing and execution of the storyline. If all it had been was death and bloodshed, then it would have been rather boring and 1 dimensional. The way the game played out was genius for sure. And having all the contestants come back as wild, crazy dogs was the cherry on a delicious sundae. What good reality show doesn’t bring back former contestants to add an extra edge to the show?
