Marriot International Inc. will take over the iconic Algonquin Hotel, famous for fostering an artistic environment for literary figures like Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley, and The New Yorker founder Harold Ross.

Authors may try to avoid cliches in their writing, but they often fall victim to the same types of promotional photographs. My favorite look? The hand-to-face photograph. How contemplative.
