'Mockingjay' gets its first major review, and it's a good one

MockingjayThe third and final book in Suzanne Collins’ popular The Hunger Games series has received its first review. Susan Carpenter of the Los Angeles Times praises Mockingjay, and says that fans of the first two books “aren’t likely to be disappointed.”  Rather than just repeating the elements of her previous works, Carpenter says Collins “takes readers into new territories and an even more brutal and confusing world: one where it’s unclear what sides the characters are on, one where presumed loyalties are repeatedly stood on their head.” She concludes her review with a single word, “Wow,” so it’s safe to assume that Mockingjay’s first major appraisal is a largely positive one.

Fans of the series, does this make you even more excited for the book’s release? Is anyone planning on picking it up immediately when it comes out tomorrow at 12:01 a.m.?

I pre-ordered it on the Barnes and Noble ereader for my phone but I’m not sure if it will be available to download by midnight…I hope so though!

I am planning to LOVE IT and call it my squooshy, which I will not be able to do until my mom finishes it. I’m hooked into her Kindle account right now on my Kindle (and I intend to stay there until my husband gets a job, she’s got over 70 books). To keep myself from asking daily if she’s done with it, I’m reading The Passage by Justin Cronin.

I just finished the Passage. Excellent book but it felt like it took me forever to read. I am ready for the sequel to that one too!

I’m so excited for this book! Glad the first review is positive, but I’m not suprprised. Even though the 2nd book got mixed reviews, I loved it, and the first was fantastic.

I just finished rereading the first two books to get myself ready for Mockingjay’s release tomorrow. I may no longer be a young adult but that doesn’t mean I don’t love this series!

I just started reading this series about 4 days ago and so far its blown me away. I’ve attempted to read it a couple times before but I couldn’t get into it (the writing takes some getting use to). But I finally sat down and read them and I finished both books in four days. Im now eagerly awaiting the third book. Im just relieved I only have to wait until Wednesday to read it. :)

It is as good as they say. The tricky politics, the love triangle. W00T! Mockingjay has it all. We really enjoyed it.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon on August 20th and just got it today! A day before it is released! I do wonder why I got it early though, because I wasn’t expecting it until the 26th. Anyway, why complain. So far, I am not disappointed.

My copy will be delieved before noon tomorrow & as soon as I get it in my hand I’m taking the rest of the day off to devour it! Excited doesn’t even begin to cover it.
