I loved the books and the show. They each have a different feel which make them great. I love all the characters in both which are different in many ways

while i enjoy the books, i do prefer the show. i am glad that the writers of the show are doing this, we will get more information on who stefan is. The books and show mainly focus on Elena, and it seems that all stefan is known for is being the brooding vampire boyfriend.
Okay, so I’m confused… are these books going to be about Stefan’s backstory as told in the books or as on told on the TV show?
I think the Vampire Diaries books are fantastic! I love Damon in them and Elena makes me laugh when she jumps off the house and Damon catches her. LJ Smith is a good writer, however I must admit that she does have quite a few errors in her books. And The Return: Nightfall wasn’t a good book, but shadow souls was. I love the moments between Damon and Elena! Whoever said that dark Visions was LJ Smith’s best book is completely wrong, it’s alright but not amazing like the Vampire Diaries. Night World is alright and so is the secret circle but they don’t beat TVD! However, I wish she’d give the wings of protection or redemption or whatever she calls them a rest! The series is good though! Who else here is a Damon lover???? I just find Stefan so boring lol.

Oh please; really? The night world series blows. I mean come on it so annoying, and in this book it will be this couple, and then another couple. Blah blah blah. I mean come on I have read every book in the night world series except one and they are just plain annoying. I mean I like their whole soulmate plot thing but when it comes down to it the only good books in that series is Secrect Vampire, that one about the girl whole got lost in the snow and had an angel following her around and stuff afterwards and getting jealous, oh and the one with the girl whose brother is soppose to have fell or something while hiking or something with his girl friend who in fact turned him into a raven or some because she was annoyed about how much he talked about his sister or something instead of her. I mean come on different people being main characters in every story is just annoying.
I also think the vampire dairies books are awesome; especialy the ones where Damon and Elena get close. I love Damon. Though I think the show is good and all I wish something from the book with damon and Elena would happen already. I hope they find a way to do the scene when katherine has both brothers in Elena trapped in the tomb under the church.
I just really wish one of the brothers in the show would feed off Elena already and give her some of their blood. All in favor of Elena as a vampire and all the werid after say ah ah…..

OMG!!!!!! THE VAMPIRE DIARIES ARE THE BEST BOOKS IN THE WORLD!!! THEY ARE MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVER!!! AND MY ULTIME FAVORITE CHARACTER IS STEFAN, SOOOOO I’M SOOOO EXCITED THAT THESE ARE JUST ABOUT HIM!!!! I LIKE STEFAN BETTER IN THE SHOW THOUGH!!!! AND THE SHOW IS THE BEST SHOW ON EARTH!!!! I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE BOOKS!!!!
i really liked the books they have been one of may fave books of all time. i really like the show as well even though i never really know what is going to happen. i dont think that i will be reading this serise because i like the original story so, yeah but i may give the a try
i disagree with a lot of people, i personally really enjoyed the first 2 books. the ones that were written in the 90′s. they werent the best books ever but they were great time fillers. but i dont like the ones that are coming out now, there too strange and hard to follow for me to enjoy them. i think i will definitely give these new books a try though! im always looking for new reading material:)
I think this book will really give everyone a better look into who Stefan really is. Whether you love the show or the books or both, I think everyone will love it.
See I love both the show and the books. I’m surpirised to see how many people don’t like the books. I think that there both so different that they don’t ruin each other. (Like Twilight-the movies suck) I’m excited to read this new book though
I thought the books were okay, until they last ones that recently came out. I thought that were just plain weird. I do however really like the show and I will probably read Stefan’s diaries because its based off the show.
I started reading the series after I saw the show. I like the show a lot better. The books were a little hard to get thru but I’m still trying to read them. I’m reading Nightfall right now and so far it’s not that great. It’s just like Twilight too me: The only thing that’s keeping me reading is Damon. LOL In Twilight the only thing that was kepping me reading was Jacob. ((But even he couldn’t save me in Breaking Dawn, I couldn’t do it. lol))
Anyway The writers of the show are suppose to be writing this new series, right? I read a few pages of it at Barnes & Nobles and it’s sounds good, even if it is from Stephen’s POV. He’s not my favorite character but I really wanted to know what the hell happened to them “back in the day” It’s still a little fuzzy. I’m glad they’re doing a new series, but I don’t thing I’m gonna read L.J’s new books when they come out.
I have already started reading the new book on the internet and it’s pretty amazing. I agree thet the first books are not very good, especially the Elena character. She’s so not worth loving in the books. In the series, however…
TVD is still awesome either way
