When I read all these hateful Bush bashes, I find it humorous and sad at the same time. I have no doubt that if their minds and hearts were streets and we could walk through them, we would find darkness, envy, hate, jealousy, misery, and an ugliness so disturbing it would make you buckle at your knees and say a prayer for them. Not to mention the massive irony in regards to their disdain and contempt for the Bush’s intellect and character. The reality is that if they were afforded the same opportunity Bush was, it would have been squandered as a result of their classic character type of smarter than everybody else, yet did nothing with their life. Too much a coward, but plenty of time to put others down that do try at the risk of failing, a real loser.

I don’t understand why anyone feels the need to defend Laura Bush on this car crash business. If someone crashed their car into someone YOU loved and was never punished and then put out some book saying how awfully sorry they were, would you applaud that? I would never be able to forgive that, the car crash I could maybe, but that she walked away from it with no punishment? Never!
Maybe with this book she’s trying to take some measure of responsibility for what she did back then, or maybe she’s just trying to clean up her public image with an apology? Either way, she ought to be judged as an American and a human being, not as the wife of a Republican president. Otherwise we voters are just as bad as the politicians are, giving breaks to people who do us favors (like supporting controversial laws we agree with).
