Another week. Another “star” wants to be a “writer”. Another “star” gets a book contract. Yawn.

  • Matthew Thomas

Okay, I admit I was over the line equating Kaling to Fey and Poehler. But that’s what her PR firm pays me to do!

  • Carol

    Barb,
Mindy’s more than some “star”–she’s written some of the funniest Office episodes like “The Injury” and “The Dundies” and most recently “Secretary’s Day.” She is foremost a writer than a ‘star.’

  • Jackie

    Barb,

You were correct in your assessment. “Carol” is a hack from a publicist’s office, spinning furiously to foist merit on Kaling’s writing for The Office, a “comedy” which now comes in at fourth place in its time slot.

  • Carol

    Jackie,

For the record, I’m a 30-something year old woman who’s not affiliated with Hollywood in any way (though I do live in CA). I am very picky with reading material but I know that Mindy will produce an awesome book. In fact, I’m even willing to bet that it will make the top 10 bestseller list. Maybe it’s too early to tell at this point… I’m just a diehard Mindy Kaling fan.

  • Barbara

    Carol,

No, you’re a low-paid shill. If you’re going to try to pollute message boards with spin and PR, please try to find a less transparent way to do it.

  • EdJankow

Carol… there is no such thing as a “diehard Mindy Kaling fan.” You sound like you’re parroting the talking points of a public relations launch.

  • Beth

Can’t wait to read Mindy AND Dwights book. Holding out for Jims memoirs, “Stapler in the Jell-o” and “From Expired Yogurt to Conceving of Wedlock”

  • Beth

Oh yeah. PS, no need to insult the people sharing their opinions.

  • Darnelle

And no need to be polite to PR flacks who hop on message boards to shill for their clients.

  • Carol

Um, what do I got to do to prove I’m not a PR flack??

  • Linda

For starters, you can quit your job at the PR office.

  • Carrie

*I* am a die-hard Mindy Kaling fan, and *I* can’t wait for this book to come out. I’m just sad that I have to wait over a year for it to be available. :-( I miss her blog so much–would give anything to see her start it up again.

  • Deborah

Carrie: You’re “Carol,” posting under a new name, and just as transparently hack-trocious.

    Pathetic.
