If Kitty Kelley did not talk to Oprah Winfrey then how can this book be completely accurate? People who don’t have to give their names are likely to say anything. Who is to say that what they are claiming is true? I hate it when people try to peddle gossip, rumors, and innuendo as absolute truth. Without her commenting on things how is this book even close to the truth? If I were Oprah and there was one lie in this book I would sue the hell out of her. Maybe then she would understand that you have to talk to the subject of the book to be accurate.

It makes you sick that sleazy journalists can make money off the lives of poor people who have done well for themselves. Imagine that, you just sit on your butt like a vulture waiting for the next big thing to happen and then you write about it and make money at it. Of course, Kitty we all believe you when we say you wrote it because Oprah made such a big impact on society and people want to know. Its like saying you’re the social worker of the universe. LOL. Kitty is a viral symptom of our society. Money is the most important factor and if it can be done by dregging up garbage on someone well so be it. She’s just doing a (hatchet) job right?

I think is tacky that poeopel can write unofficial books on people there should be laws against thats not to mention a % of proceeds from it should go to Oprah herself.

I’m no longer an Oprah fan, but I think this book won’t really reveal much of anything we don’t already know. It’s just a way for somebody to get richer off of somebody else’s back. I think Kitty is just padding her retirement…it’s a tough economy these days…
I won’t help her by buying this book.

After reading a couple of Kitty Kelley’s biographies, I read one about her. Turns out Ms. Kitty is not as thorough as she claims to be and also doesn’t having a problem making stuff up.

sooner or later it all comes out .

Wanda you are sadly misguided. What is so wrong saying that you are proud for being Black or that you voted for President Obama because he is Black. Are you saying that you did not vote for him because he was Black? Why is it that every time a Black shows sense of pride about themselves or their culture someone feels they need to scorn them for doing so. Wanda you are the one who needs to open your eyes and stop trying to be a pleaser and just simply be free.

I have uttermost respect for the positive influence Oprah had on other people’s life and the fact that she grew into what she is today after such a difficult past only makes this more significant. It shows that we can rise above these kind of adversity and she is a very inspiring real life example of that, that cares a lot, though maybe not always in the most effective or sophisticated way

Our perception of things is our reality. Regardless if O grew up wearing Nikies, Pro-Wings, or bare foot. We all have our own secrets and they are OUR secrets. The fact that this woman “dug” up secrets of Oprahs is disgusting. The fact that employees and bitter family members played apart in it all just makes me think that they are far from the truth.

Who cares. We all have issues. NEXT!

Ah, JH can’t spell Oprah right but JH does spell Queer correctly. Maybe’s its because she is one. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Also, to Cherish who says that Black comes before Woman. As a Black Woman, I am a woman first and foremost. I am also university educated with a Masters degree, so maybe I have evolved past allowing society and others to make me define myself by skin color. As for Kitty Kelley, (with that tacky porn name for an old woman) I am disgusted by her exploiting celebrities like Oprah who has worked hard to protect children and empower women. But if it didn’t bring down Elizabeth Taylor and Sinatra, Oprah will be just fine.

Exactley, we all have secrets. The only difference is no one cares to read them.

I have always perceived people who migrate to the west in search of opportunities as blind and lazy, especially if they were coming from Africa. Why? Because if you ask me, the geniuses in America have exploited all the opportunities there are, so that the less smart ones have to now “eat one another” in other to survive. Meanwhile Africa still lies fallow. It is one thing investigating and hopefully unearthing crime and injustice. It is another, trading someone else misery, pain and shame for money. It is understandable if the author is frustrated as a journalist or writer, but i believe it would pay more if she tried something more creative, like doing something “Eco friendly,” for instance. We all change professions from time to time if the going gets tough.

It’s remarkable that a high percentage of these comments devolved into debating the pros and cons of the current president – which has nothing to do with this article.

Oprah’s a good actress. She’s proven that. If you are an actor, you can choose to make it all about the work and keep your private life private. However Oprah funds the empire from a talk show, talking about people’s lives and works. Obviously, fans will want to know about hers, too. If she wants control, she has to put out her own book, otherwise the bottom-feeders like Ms. Kelley will put their version out there instead. Oprah traded privacy for money and fame long, long ago. It’s a Faustian bargain. She does a lot of good, but she can’t take it all back and pretend she’s an ordinary person now and be invisible like me.

Kitty Kelly has been doing the world a service for decades by revealing some of the lies the rich and famous like us to believe about them. It helps the world when idols are rendered human again. Oprah can handle it.

Sad, she could help a lot girls get out of prostitution that are slaves to it. And help others see how the demand needs to end.
