Sarah Palin's memoir leaked; Katie Couric is 'badgering'

Filed under: News and tagged:

going-rogue_lHow does Sarah Palin feel about the whole election process now that a year has passed? I don’t know, Alaska.

According to the AP, which apparently managed to procure an early copy of the vice-presidential candidate’s memoir Going Rogue, she’s not very happy with how everything went down. In the book, due out next Tuesday, she claims that the John McCain political machine straight-talk-expressed her and left her with $50,000 in legal bills from the vetting process. Additionally, she avers that the campaign had kept her “bottled up,” exercising complete control over her image and message and even going so far as to refuse her changes to the press release regarding her daughter Bristol’s pregnancy. The McCain camp has denied asking Palin to pay any costs related to vetting, stating that they are unaware of any personal expenses she may have incurred.

Palin also dedicates a good deal of ink to the infamous Katie Couric interview, branding the CBS anchor as “badgering” and as having a “partisan agenda.” Interestingly, though, the book also mentions that the campaign shared a New York stylist with Couric.

AP is calling the tone of Rogue, which was written with Lynn Vincent, “folksy” and “homespun,” which is probably to be expected from the woman who returned “Golly-gee!” and “Don’t cha know?” to the national lexicon for the first time since Fargo.

What do you think? Do you find the former governor’s allegations surprising? Do you plan to read her book?

I think her first self-comparison to a dog still stands.

  • Michael D.

Couric was “badgering”??? Good Lord, how would Palin have handled the White House press corps?

    • Marisa

Exactly what I said! If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen!!

    • April

Agree with you here. It seems like Palin only wants you to ask her a question, she responds to it, and that’s it.

I wonder if she’s ever held a press conference before?

    • Bill

Only Sarah Palin could think “What newspapers do you read?” is a gotcha question.

    • SkulduggeryPleasant.org

      +1

“What have you read?” WOW! She didn’t ask if she FAKED her last pregnancy (Down syndrome Trig) and it was actually daughter Bristol — who was BY CHANCE home sick for school for months during that time — that was pregnant (the *true* 1st time around!) and Sarah took the blame for her daughter’s slutiness.

  • Stacie

What a whiner! She will probably come out next week and say that her comments in the book were miscontrued and she meant it all in a different way.

    • kahuna

She already has. She has issued a pre-emptive, the AP got it wrong..but in true palin fashion gives no details about what they got wrong. Oy!

  • pam

Does this woman ever shut up? Go away, hide out shooting mooose or something , she is old and boring and annoying news

    • Emma

You knew what this post would be about before you read it.

  • Wayne

Why don’t you liberals get off your high horses? She would be good for the country. Much better than a wuss who can’t make a decision or show any passion.

    • Officer Farva

Sorry, but we are talking about a country here on earth, what planet are you from?

    • Kevin

Wayne, you can’t be serious…the woman is a complete idiot. She wouldn’t be good for a country club, much less our country.

      • Ashley

Wow…you’re serious? the only thing the woman is good for is giving Tina Fey material to make fun of her.

      • Ashley

this is to Wayne, not you Kevin. Your comment made me laugh.

    • SDTim

Yeah, Wayne, you’re pretty far off base! Complex world affairs should not be decided without a lot of research, input and consideration. We suffered through 8 years of the “decider” and look what it’s gotten us… 2 wars and economic crisis. We don’t need another tool in the White House!

      • paige

Because everything that happens during a presidents term is completely his fault… While I agree that he could have made many better choices, not everything we are dealing with today is solely his fault.

      • AK

Maybe not, Paige. But all of those things are.

    • wakeforce

Wayne states that in later posts that he doesn’t insult people but is only stating facts. Well it is obvious that in his first statements he is trying to bash liberals and later he insults me saying that I am living off the govermnent. He does NOT know me.And frthermore someone with the intelligence ofa plate of spaghetti can’t insult me anyway! When Carrie prejean’s sextape is released I’m sure he’s got his little blue pill on backorder. Well get ready, Wayne! Palin’s on Oprah Monday!

    • Jackelyn S

I would prefer less passion for Alaska and more passion for the United States of AMERICA! Also, false passion just angers the country, it doesn’t inspire them, or @ least it does not inspire the intelligent ones!

    • Jeremy

When did they let you out of the home?

  • loola

Palin is the real deal. Couric idolizes the Obamas & abhors anything resembling conservatism.

    • James S.

You must’ve had a typo there: I think you meant “idiot,” not “deal.” Easy mistake.

      • SDTim

        LOL, James

    • Aiden

Might be hard to accept for others, especially the Palin-haters, but it IS true. No matter how much you like what Couric did, this remains true. We all know it.

  • Wayne

I am for country that happens to need her the United States of America which I served for over 20 years and have a daughter who has (and is still) doing the same.
I am from a country the endorses (or used to) self-reliance and people succeeding without having to rely on the government (which doesn’t really care) to take care of them.

    • wakeforce

I guess you also come from a country that values wealth above everything else! I suppose your parents are no longer living or they don’t rely on Social Security. there is not a single person on the planet who doesn’t rely on some kind of government support.

      • Wayne

Negative. And I bet you are depending on the government (and the legal law abiding citizens) to take care of you. And Social Security would not be in the state it is in today if the liberals in charge for most of the last 60 years had not ripped it off. And before you accuse me of being a republican, I am a conservative just like Mrs. Palin. Some kind is okay but total is not.

      • James S.

I’ll one-up you, Wayne: I am a GAY conservative, and this woman is exactly the reason I chose not to vote for McCain. Well, that and I couldn’t stand another four years of that whack-job Bush.

      • Beth

Wow! A Gay conservative. I’d always heard they existed but I didn’t believe it.

      • amj

Social Security funds are not welfare or state funds they are retirement funds that are taken from my paycheck just like a 401K. I don’t like Social Security being lumped in with other services. They are different. If I had a choice, my SSN money would go to a different fund.

    • Brenda DuBois

Shame on you for your hatefulness and ignorance. This woman should be a source of shame for our country and instead she is successfully peddling her story like a snake-oil salesman to the unlearned and deeply hateful right. I hope that one day you will realize that “serving my country,” for any number of years does not excuse the harm and damage you are doing to other citizens of this country by flocking under the cloak of hate-mongers and con artists like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin. Just because you and your daughters decided to serve the USA, does not mean that you suddenly have moral superiority over others. The fact that you keep pushing it everyone’s face shows that you pledged your “services” for the wrong reasons from the beginning.

I don’t expect to receive an intelligent (or even coherent) response, as there is no defending the abhorrent and immoral views that both you and your leaders espouse. I hope you, along with your prejudiced and ill-willed cohorts, will one day realize that we are all Americans in this country, whether fat, skinny, black, white, yellow, rich, poor, gay, straight, christian, atheist, muslim, ugly, pretty, learned, uneducated. We all deserve the right to live freely and happily in this country–with proper health care, equal rights, opportunities, and fair community leaders.

      • Wayne

Okay, I do push it in anyone’s face, just stating the facts, which it would be nice if you could. I am not perfect (from your tone you consider yourself so) so I have no moral superiority over anyone. I am not a hate monger. I hate very little and it is not base on race, religion, or gender. It has to do with the person.
Mrs. Palin has not done anything to be shameful for, which is more that can be said for the present administration.
And we all (mostly) should have the opportunity to work for all those benefits, rather than having honest, law-abiding, citizens of the USA do so for them. From the tone of you missive I expect you are one of those that want open borders, free health care, etc.

      • Wayne

Typing mistaking in my last. I DO NOT push it.

      • Brenda DuBois

We all have facts to share, Wayne. You chose to share those specific “facts,” as if it makes any difference in the argument at hand. This is what you chose to do. I merely told you that it holds no relevance to me and millions of other people in this country. We could have chosen to sign up for service too. You didn’t earn anything. You just chose something. This “fact” has no bearing on the conversation at hand.

Secondly, I am for free healthcare, Wayne, because both you and I deserve to receive medical attention when we need it, at a cost that won’t leave us destitute and homeless. Thanks to GWB, our economy will remain shattered for years to come and, the last thing we need, is medical debt to compound our misery. I definitely trust a non-profit, governmental health insurance more than the for-profit, billion dollar private insurance companies that try to milk the American populace of their cash, give this cash to their already privileged executives and give us, as Americans, very miniscule, somewhat insulting, coverage. Why would you trust these private insurance companies, who have already proven themselves to be unbelievably corrupt, over a new governmental program to help people

Can I ask you what specifically makes you support Palin? I want specific examples of policies she has outlined and why these sound favorable to you. Her career thus far has shown her to be a relative failure, she couldn’t even complete her term as Governor or get through a simple interview on TV. This is not debatable. It happened. So I want to know, in light of this lack of positivity on her resumé, what makes you still support her?

      • Wayne

AS do you. And your facts mean as much as mine do to millions of others. Over the course that are millions who have made the same choice as I did and people like yourself dismiss it. I am proud of my and my family’s and the millions of others who have chosen and continue to choose to serve their country in this way so that others, like yourself, can enjoy the lives you do. Nobody is refused health care who needs it. Name me one individual that has been turned away if they truly need care. And the health cost would not be so high if we have tart reform, allow people to carry it with them when they move, both of which can be done. I personally have excellent health care (at a cost and earned) and know many other in the same situation.
For the programs she instituted for her state while serving as governor She chose to not serve the full term which in no way means she couldn’t complete just that for reasons of her own she chose not to. She got through many interviews on TV and continues to do so. Is there specific accomplishments that BO has on his resume (prior to his current position which is a failure) that made you chose him?

      • Brenda DuBois

Actually I have not included personal “facts” in my argument, Wayne. You do not know what my career is, my age, my sex, my race, my tax bracket. I have not said those things, because they have no bearing on the argument. Perhaps you too dim to understand my point, but I am saying that what you and the millions of other military people chose to do, the career YOU chose, does not have ANY bearing on your moral capacity or your ability to “understand American values.”

I can name many people, Wayne, who cannot afford to get the medical care they need. For example, I had a German language tutor who wasn’t able to get the mouth surgery and dental care that he needs and now is trying to find a way to leave the country to get care. He cannot afford it in this country, because his teaching position at a university did not include benefits that included this. He was desperate and suffered from severe pain. This is just one example, Wayne. I have many others. Just because you cannot name someone in your inner circle that cannot afford health insurance, does not mean that those 46 million people who cannot afford help don’t exist. Stop trying to fight facts, Wayne. These are real people. REAL AMERICANS.

I also asked you why specifically you support Ms. Palin. You could not give me one legitimate reason. You could not name one accomplishment from her resumé. You even had time to Wikipedia her or something to find an answer. In the future, I would decline any interview requests (especially from Katie Couric), if I was you.

      • Wayne

Need to get new glasses. I stated that one of the reasons was what she accomplished for the people of Alaska (that is what programs means). If you are not aware of these programs, maybe you should Wikapedia yourself.
And I am not stating it does. Just replying to you. I am not ashamed of including personal facts in my replies. A person’s history influences his/hers decisions and attitudes. Nor have I stated my tax bracket. If he was a tutor I would think that he should be able to get a teaching job where they would offer medical benefits. Now it there is some reason he can’t then I sympathize with him. What university doesn’t have a health plan? And if you will check the facts, you will find that the number of citizens that can’t afford this is much lower that what you quote. This has been proven by independent groups. If you would listen to a variety of news sources you would know this. And these are facts.
As stated above I gave you reasons. You could not even come up with anything to base your support on. I am not in a position to be interviewed by her or anyone else.

      • Brenda DuBois

Wayne, you said that I did share such facts. I never did. You need to get glasses. You chose what you shared for a specific reason. Otherwise, you are just throwing random words out into cyberspace without care. I don’t know why you are arguing with me on this, as it is very apparent. Anyone who reads your comment can fully understand this.

And what exactly has she done for people of Alaska. Specific examples and studies as to their positive effects.

I never said that I voted for Obama or supported Obama. I do not know why I have to provide you proof of anything, if I never argued for him.

Also, I don’t know if you are aware that there is a job shortage in this country, Wayne. The teaching position of my friend is actually quite heralded and is at an elite university. Unfortunately, many places do not give adequate health care for their workers. He has insurance, it just does not cover the issues he has now. He deserves proper care. Private, for-profit insurance companies do not care about that, Wayne. They care about $$$ only. Hope you’ll figure this out before you need a treatment that your insurance company won’t let you have.

      • Joe

Wayne goes to church on Christmas and Easter, so he knows everything. Religion (which Republicans step on for their values) is inclusive. The Republican party is exclusive. The God I pray to is no fan of your lip service, Wayne. Brenda’s intelligent and simply different from you. And she has the gall to include her last name. You need to show some respect (a Democrat will show you how). There’s room in this country for different opinions. I’m so sick of I fought for this country, so I know everything. The military is a government run program! Is that socialism?

      • Joe

By the way, I’m a vet of the first Gulf War, and a registered Republican until 2004 when Karl Rove changed the terror alert depending on Bush’s approval numbers. That’s the kind of Republican who’s gonna be shining Satan’s shoes when his time comes.

      • To Wayne

Have you even read the newspapers? What do you mean Sarah Palin has done nothing wrong? She’s done plenty wrong as the Governor of Alaska otherwise why did she resign? Because she was doing a great job and couldn’t bear to take it anymore? Or, she was doing a great job that didn’t incur so much legal fees? Or, she was doing a great job that she didn’t compromise her authority by politically abusing her son-in-law? I’m all for “self-reliance” as you put it–but not when it’s to the detriment of other people as Sarah Palin has proven over the years. This is the problem with Republicans–they don’t know when to stop. And it’s the main reason why President Obama wants to regulate the corruption on Wall Street. That also went a little too far. And don’t tell me Madoff is not a Republican.

      • Natalie

What disgusts me about this argument is not the fact that people have differing opinions, but that everyone seems to lob their insults at a political party instead of at the person they’re debating.

Don’t you realize that you lose all credibility when you say all Democrats suck or all Republicans are stupid?

      • paige

I agree with you Natalie. When people say things like that, they are throwing light on their character. Who would want to listen to somebody who talks to other people like that? By only speaking in insults, you are actually hurting the reputation of your own political party.

      • Wayne

Don’t listen to me. I’m just bitter because Sarah rejected my offer to take her to prom back in high school. I did, however, make it puh-retty far with a moose. So it wasn’t all that much of a waste.

      • jon

        right on Miss DuBois!!!

    • Me

Wayne, do you have VA benefits? My Dad does as a vet and he’s also retired CIA. He voted for Obama.

      • Wayne

Yes I do. WE are all entitled to our own ideas. I know other vets who also voted that way. I know a lot more who voted the other way. I also am currently serving in a different capacity.

    • John

I think anyone who subscribes entirely to either a Republican or a Democratic point of view has stopped thinking for themselves entirely. Both parties exist entirely to make money for their leadership and use the ignorant masses to accomplish this. Congratulations, you are all sheep. Have a nice day.

    • Katyo

Just like Sarah Palin, you mean, who used state tax money to send her children with her on trips, or who cut taxes on luxuries her family happened to own, or who got a $150,000 wardrobe to go campaigning? What has this woman ever earned on her own?

  • Wayne

    Kevin,

And you think what we have today is good for this country? If so, please stop drinking the ripple.

    • Brenda DuBois

I think you misunderstand the term “ripple,” Wayne.

      • Wayne

No I happen to know what Ripple is.

    • Joe

HE knows what Ripple is. It was a racist statement. Don’t bother responding Wayne, I’ll do it for you: “Y’all liberals is too sensitive. Now where’d I put my hood?”

      • James S.

Not to defend this guy, but ripple is also any brand of cheap booze.

      • John

Commonly associated with poor black people. It’s the same if Wayne had said ‘Malt Liquor.’ Not overt, but all the same…

    • kse

Yikes… I thought this was Entertainment Weekly. I must have stumbled onto a political blog by mistake. However, since the we have gotten political and partisan, I wonder how much would actually get accomplished if our leaders worked together and put the needs of our country ahead of their own personal agendas. It’s really become so sad… aren’t these comments a perfect example of how polarized we’ve become. Now, I will take my rose-color glasses and go read what people would be great hosts on SNL or what show we should be watching after the Super Bowl.

    • CMD

Sorry Wayne, but I completely disagree, not solely with your political views but with your views on Sarah Palin. Watch the Oprah interview yesterday, or the Nightline interview, or the World News interview. The woman was annoyed and upset because little old Katie Curic was asking her to many questions. She admitted that she got flustered because Katie was asking her what she liked to read! Come on, here Wayne. How can you want someone like that in the White House being a leader for our country. If you are a Vet and have traveled around the world you would have seen that America was considered a joke for sometime because of Bush’s complete lack of knowledge and intelligence. This is a global society now and how we look in the world is paramount, can you imagine someone that is scared of Katie Curic standing up to Kim Jong Ill or Amindinjad. I say vote for whoever you want to, but please don’t argue for someone who was clearly, utterly, and completely not ready for the job. I love strong women, but I will not hold up a wooden idol and call it God. McCain could have chosen anyone to be is VP and there were numerous female great choices. He went with the easiest to handle. Do I blame Sarah Palin for not being ready for the job, No! I blame McCain for picking her. And if you care so much about Republican values and winning the 2012 election then you would have to agree. She simply was not ready!

  • p-dawg

Loola I am with you. And its not like we have a REAL winner of a VP or Pres right now anyhow. I mean, WHERE IS JOE BIDEN? Sounds like a gameshow.

    • K

Could someone from the conservative branch of things please explain how Couric’s interview was “badgering”? Couric had to press her on issues, because she was saying absolutely nothing. She couldn’t even name ONE journal/newspaper she reads! All Couric was doing was trying to get her to answer a question. Could she have handled anything about public office if that soft-ball, gentle interview was so traumatic?

      • Wayne

Number 1- she was not allowed to be herself.
Number 2-Can you name one journal/newspaper you read on the spur of the moment?
If you consider Couric a journalist you are drinking the ripple.
I personally didn’t watch it because of the fact that I knew it would be one-sided and was waiting for a real journalist to interview her.

      • Me

Really? You can’t name a single newspaper you read on the spur of the moment? In addition, as a politician, I would think she would read at the very least papers from her home state to keep apprised of what’s being reported.

      • sarah

1 – If she was not being herself, then whose fault is that, except her own?
2 – Yes, I can. As can most anyone who does, in fact, read such a newspaper or journal regularly.

I agree with K, Couric was simply doing her job, since Palin was unable to answer her simple questions. In that case, I think it’s rather a good thing she didn’t make it to the White House. Who knows what would have happened to her in interviews when she arrived there?

      • tvgirl48

Wayne, you didn’t even watch it? How can you defend her when you didn’t even watch what you’re defending? I don’t know how anyone, even conservatives, can still support Sarah Palin after watching her on Katie Couric. And why is it hard to name what newspaper you read every day? THAT’s a hard question?

    • James S.

Yeah, because George Bush was SOOOOO much better for our country. How many soldiers have we lost in Iraq? And what exactly did we go in there for? That’s what I thought.

  • Alan

Palin has demonstrated repeatedly that she is not up to the challenge of holding public office, neither by temperament nor intelligence. The right wing’s romance with this woman only weakens their credibility and shows how little they care about actual governance. But then, we already knew that based on the last eight years, didn’t we?

    • Wayne

And what we have now is up to this challenge. They can’t even call a terrorist by what he is. By the last 8 years you are including the last year of the current regime.

      • K

Oh Wayne, go drink your Fox News Koolaid and leave politics to those of us who understand the world. If you can somehow defend the government that will go down as the worst in US history (illegal wiretapping, Abu Graib, false info to start an unnecessary war, global economic meltdown followed by big business handouts that furthered the problem… any one of these would be enough to mar a presidency), then you need to rethink your status as a human being.

      • Wayne

Better koolaid than ripple. I get my news from various sources and I make up my own mind, it don’t let the media tell me what is right. The wiretaps were legal, Abu Graib was not condoned or authorized by those in the administrtion, depends on who you listen to as to whether the info was false or not. The dems are more responsible than anyone else for the economic situation. And the handouts. If you notice the only car company making money is the one that didn’t take the handout. And they have marred the current administration. I have not accused any of not being human. I am trying to be courteous if you let me.

      • Ashley

The Democrats are responsible?! Are you f–king kidding me? What KoolAid are you drinking? The Rush Limbaugh one where everyone who isn’t an ultra-conservative Republican is at fault? And how racist and ignorant are you to call our president a terrorist? Yes, he’s got an unusual name. get over it. He’s doing his best, and we should wait out his term before judging. And no, Wayne, I am NOT a Democrat, nor did I support Obama.

      • kahuna

Who was it that dissed a daily intelligence briefing (while he was on a month long vacation), with the heading, “Osama bin Laden Determined to strike in the USA..” And lo and behold he did. Then your guys said, fiddle dee dee, we only thought old OBL was gonna hi-jack some planes. We didn’t know he was going to drive them into skyscrapers!!!! Anybody with a brain (and two former defense secretaries in the cabinet) should have known that al Qeada’s MO, was not to hi-jack but was to commit suicide missions. So you should never ever, diss team Obama after what YOUR guys let happen to this country.

      • vltraverso

What kind of military man calls his Commander-in-Chief a terrorist? Clearly, one who lacks the honor he and his brethren are supposed to have.

    • Lee

I’m totally with you, Alan. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

  • Karl Rave

    Palin-Bachmann 2012!!!
    Palin-Bachmann 2012!!!
    Palin-Bachmann 2012!!!

    • Me

      The boob ticket.

      • Antylissa

Palin has my vote in 2012! [[but if Hillary runs again, Palin is SOL!]] Palin 2012!

    • t.g. pierson

      Palin-Bachmann 2012…maybe the movie 2012 is right.

    • kahuna

      Why do you hate America?

  • Timmy

I can’t believe Larry King kept asking her about the mediation. Come on Lar old dog, you know the answer to that question!

    • James S.

Understandable if you’re joking, but that was the Carrie Prejean thread from yesterday. Wrong story.

  • Dwayne

Nice one Wayne! Don’t let none of them Liberal wusses tell you what you know is true. I got my shot gun and bible and nothing else.

    • Jake

I’m not saying Sarah Palin would have been a good VP, but I do know that Joe Biden is not any better.

      • Sally

But Biden is not one shaky heartbeat away from the presidency as Palin would have been if McCain had been elected.

      • Kim

I have to disagree with your assessment of Joe Biden. While he does have a propensity for sticking his foot in his mouth, he has a keen grasp of most issues, especially foreign policy. I’ve seen him on Meet the Press many times and he is and intelligent, thoughtful man. The same cannot be said about Palin who grasp on most issues is shaky at best and sticks her foot in her mouth on a regular basis.

    • kahuna

      You sound bitter.

  • Liberal Bias

Conservatives love to have a flashy looking thing up front preaching the ignorance and hate.

    • Wayne

Conservatives like someone who stands for what the USA has stood for throughout it’s history. If I remember correctly (and I do) BO is the one who had the columns and and bass enhanced sound system. Seems kind of flashy if you ask me.

      • Officer Farva

You do realize that the USA’s history also includes its foundation on slavery and genocide. If that is the USA you want, you can have it, the rest of civilization has evolved.

      • Wayne

Yes I do. But overall I am proud of my country. There is not a perfect nation or person on this planet. The only perfect person I have any knowledge of was crucified on a cross. I don’t think I made any reference that I would like to see this country revert to the 1800′s.

      • Brenda DuBois

So you stand for what the US has “stood for throughout it’s history.” How sad. Your still in an 18th century mindset. I hope that one day, Wayne, you will join us in the real world, where different people, with different backgrounds and issues come together to try to live to their fullest. People who want to receive proper healthcare when they need it. People who want to have equal rights no matter their race or sexuality. People who want to participate in the religion of their choice, without having a President or Vice President trying to govern them based on the tenants of their his or her own religion. Have you ever thought how it must feel to be a minority, Wayne? Someone who is just as much of an American as you or me and feels that way, but is constantly told they are not because they don’t see their reflections in the TV. They don’t see their political leaders accepting them. They see their leaders talk of Jesus and the forefathers and the military and closing borders and no healthcare. What if you were like them, Wayne? What if you were born into poverty and then people like Palin came on to TV and tried to convince people that helping the needy is wrong? Do you think Palin, a privileged woman in every sense, has the right to decide who needs help and who doesn’t? Does she get to decide who gets those basic human rights and who doesnt? She should be ashamed of herself, as should you. SHAME.

If you had read what I wrote you would see that I said I didn’t wish to go back to the 1800′s. I happen to live in a community such as you state and love it. I want all people to get the health care that they require, just want those capable to earn it not have it handed to them on a platter. All for equal rights for citizens. In this day and age I am a minority. She nor NO ONE else has that right which is something the current administration and congress would be wise to acknowledge instead of trying to force it down our throats. I have not made any indications that I want to prevent people from having their rights. No more that I think a President or VP has any right in choosing my or anyone else s health care or providers. And just as an aside I was born poor and have had to work for all I have. I nor any of my family have never asked for handouts or for the government to take care of us. We also take care of our own instead of having the government do so.

Wayne, I belive you are truly a voice of reason (although everyone is entitled to their own opinion). It astounds me how some people cannot appreciate the country we live in, those people who believe we should become like most other countries and have the government completely control our lives. No thank you; I love the good ol’ USA

You do realize that this country was founded based on progressive ideals, right?

      • To Wayne

Which words of “health public option” don’t you understand? It’s an OPTION–it’s not something that the govt. wants to “shove down your throat.” Man, I wish you conservatives would get your facts straight.

Incredible ghost writing! Every word is so carefully chosen I felt as if I were reading a poem.

    • Wayne

And who would you be referring to?

      • Me

Surely, you know that Mrs. Palin had help writing her book? Lynn Vincent is the author.

      • Wayne

Of course as do most inexperienced writers. You surely don’t think the BO, algore, the Clinton’s and others have written their books without a ghost writer.

      • mtraptor

Why would Obama have had access to a ghostwriter? He was almost a complete unknown when he published his first book in 1995.
