It’s getting to be that time of year—the time for Best and Worst lists—and as I mull over EW’s, I’m thinking back over everything I’ve Read the full post.
I just read a transcript of the best book I have ever read in my life, and I am 49 years old. I was able to read the script because I am working on a screenplay for the book.
The book is “You only live twice” Written By Gumersindo Vidot. It’s about a Puerto Rican kid in Harlem, and South Bronx were he grew up, and the unbelievable challenges he had to face. Police Brutality, drugs, gangs, demons, and how he had to fight both spirituality, and physically each fday to survive.
It will be out by Feb 17 2010 http://www.yoltbooks.com
TEASER:
Favorites this year…Drood (Dan Simmons), great pageturner but a long read at 800 pages. One of the BEST novels I have ever read is Shadow Country, disturbing and elegant with prose to match. For all the E.L Doctorow lovers (like me) Homer and Langley, great read, as usual. I am reading Spooner now.

Pop-splat by Ian Martin
By far the most entertaining, thought provoking and stimulating (or shocking?) book I’ve read in the time it takes to grow a full beard!
