Honestly, I don't think it matters what the cover looks like... it's the actual book that matters, not the cover art.

I read Wuthering Heights in year 10 at 17 and found it to be an immensely difficult read, however I did enjoy it. Twilight is perhaps the simplest book I have ever (partly) read. If some Twilight-obsessed air-head thinks they will be able to cope with Wuthering Heights, I sincerely wish them luck. While HarperCollins will probably make a fair few dollars out of this, it is still a ridiculous idea.

This makes me sick.

I know it probably makes more non-nerds read classics of their own will, but I feel as if Wuthering Heights and other classics are tainted by Meyer. They're identified simply because Bella reads them, when they really should be identified for their own merits and the achievements of their authors (as opposed to the merits of some author who came along in the 21st century and slapped her propaganda on them).

And besides, the Bella and Edward versions aren't very well made. I have a classic-bound version of Wuthering Heights, and it's absolutely awesome. It stays together well, too; I've seen that my peers' copies of the Twilight version have a huge curve in their covers. They begin to look old after one reading. My ancient version is in much better shape after roughly a century's worth of reading and abuse.

^^^precisely! Remember that Twi-hard in youtube? She actually SAID that Meyer was a better writer than THE Stephen King. I think it's just because she CAN'T read the book. Same case here. Either the kid would start appreciating decent literature, or quit Wuthering Heights after the first three pages.

to Olivia ^^ Same thing. I'm 14;I loved reading and writing since I was seven, and I used to like the Twilight series (mostly because a lot of my friends do). Then I took a literature class and saw the truth. Twilight does not have the artistic and emotional depth Wuthering Heights has. And to those who think these covers would make teenagers appreciate classics more? Well, the results may be one of these:
a)Twi-hard teen girl sees a copy of Wuthering Heights with the new cover and buys it.She reads the book, decides that she loves it,begins to dislike Twilight and moves on to more mature literature.
b)Twi-hard sees a copy and buys it,then quits reading mid-way because it's not the easy-to-read cheesy, cliche romance novel she expected.

i think that this is a good idea to get other kids to realize that there is other great love stories besides twilight (even though i am almost over obsessed)! Some people have read the twilight series over and over again and i have too but then i saw "pride and prejuduce", "wuthering heights", and "romeo and juliet" i read all three and love them all!

p.s.
if you think this should be a better book, maybe you should try to make i romance about teenage vampires and make it a world-wide best seller, and she worked very hard on this and its really rude and dis-respectful so go make a freaking website about is and talk sh*t its just so unkind, rude, and cold. I'll tell you this right now, your not going to get a guy acting that way, find something better to do with your time than go make Stephnie Meyers feel bad. She did a great job, especially being a stay home mother that has children to take care of! than you see what its like. I'm just going to stop here because im about to freak out. GROW UP!

Almost anything is worth getting a younger generation to revisit classic literature. Changing a cover picture does not affect what is inside, so I think this is an excellent idea!
