This is the very first post in our new books blog, where you’ll find me (and occasionally other EW staffers, like Kate Ward, Thom Geier, Jeff Giles, and Ken Tucker) weighing in on new books — fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, YA titles, poetry, and much more. We’ll be reviewing, talking to authors, reporting the latest publishing news, dissecting sales trends, forecasting hits (and misses), looking at books made into movies — you name it, we’ll cover it. We love to read and we’re passionate about books.

EW.com + A blog devoted to books? My life is complete. Thank you, Ms. Jordan. (Now let’s get it on the main page!)
Yay! I am excited about this blog – since the book section in the magazine is now so short (which saddens me), this will help to make up for that. Thanks!
This is fantastic, thank you EW!
Excellent! Just stumbled on this, and am looking forward to more entries. Thank you!
So excited for this blog. Thanks EW!
This is fantastic! I have a growing “Must Read” list that I’ve developed from EW’s book reviews. Thank you so much for thinking of the EW literary readers!
Will you be blogging about comics books/graphic novels too? Hope so!
Ms. Jordan this is definately the best thing that ew has done in a while! i’ve read the other two posts and they’re great – can’t wait for more!
I’ve been very dismayed in the last little while to see the Books section of the magazine so short. I’ve read many a book that was recommended in the books review section and never been disappointed. I’m glad to see the Blog but hope the magazine books section goes back to it’s normal length.
Used to be your magazine had more pages, covered more books of substance, literary value. Since that’s drastically changed (along with magazines such as Atlantic Monthly and Harpers as well), I hope you cover more books here, as you did in the good old days in your print version.
About time you guys gave books some everyday love!! Just don’t turn it into another *all twilight related blog* like um, everyother blog here especially popwatch.
I just noticed this new book blog! thanks for not forgetting about the books, I’ll def. bookmark the blog to keep up to date
